Michael F. Peri

Associate attorney Michael F. Peri (California State Bar No. 271598) was born in Fremont, California and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona.  He attended the University of Arizona in Tucson for both his undergraduate and law school degrees before moving back to the Bay Area.

Before settling into his career in law, Michael worked as a management consultant for a large consulting firm, helping major financial service companies determine and implement their business strategies. He also established himself as a financial advisor for a large wealth management firm, helping all manner of individual clients and small businesses work toward achieving their financial, retirement, charitable and related investment goals.

With us, Michael now assists individuals in meeting their estate planning goals by crafting new estate plans, and updating older existing estate plans, to provide asset-protection features.  This includes living trust estate plans with specialized provisions that serve to protect assets for the benefit of spouses and family members in the event of skilled nursing care or similar institutionalization. Special needs trusts are part of his practice, and can also be added to estate plans where circumstances warrant their use for the benefit of, for instance, a disabled child or other family member, and also as a continuing asset protection device.

Michael also assists clients with Medi-Cal eligibility planning and the related asset preservation and protection (transfer) procedures which prevent the excessive loss of funds or other assets in the event of a permanent skilled nursing confinement.   Michael also practices trust administration and estate (probate) administration.

Michael's financial and investment background is also an invaluable resource for our office.  His understanding of various financial investments and products, as well as the maze of (not otherwise easily understood) documents involved in the transfer of assets in both a trust administration setting and in the context of accelerating Medi-Cal eligibility, helps expedite these processes.

Michael is a member of the State Bars of both California and Arizona.  He lives in Walnut Creek with his family.
